My Exhibition Contrabutions

For our Children in Need exhibition we shot several pictures of us in costume, my main job in the exhibition was to help with the showing of the pictures on the exhibition boards.

First we were shown how the studio was going to be set up, with an introduction to lighting and taking pictures (Still and moving).

We were then given the oppertunity to take pictures... I shot Jay, It was a Mid-shot.
After the pictures were printed we stuck them to a board and put them on display in the front of the college.

World Upside Down

For world upside down photography we first studied Rene Magritte's Ceci n'est pas une pipe, and how images we see represent objects or meanings, like signs or symbols and are not the real object. so when we see an image it is a image of something, not that is something.

For my pictures i chose to capture abstract images, for my first image I located a partially build pergola, i took a close up shot, capturing the whole object, through metal bars as you can see on the outside of the pictures. i have also captured the building materials in the image which are covered by a blue sheet.

My second image was a car parking ticket machine, i captured it in the centre of the image and with the instruction on the right.

For my third image i chose to capture the college tower block, literally upside down. It makes the whole image completely abstract and makes you focus on the images in the top half of the image, and makes you strain to read "NO PARKING DELIVERIES ONLY" which has cars parked over it.
